Capacitance Bridge

The GenRad1621 Capacitance Measurement system is a completely self-contained system capable of capacitance measurements in increments as small as 0.1 aF (10-4 pF) and conductance measurements in increments as small as 100 aU (10-7 U; equivalent to a shunt resistance of 1010 M). Measurements are three terminal, with 2- or 3-terminal connection, and provision is also made for the connection of an external standard for comparison measurements.

The elements used in 1409 Standard Capacitors are selected for low dissipation factor and are stabilized by heat cycling. They are housed in cast aluminum cases, along with silica gel which provides continuous desiccation. These cases are sealed with high-temperature wax. VI-700
The VI-700 Voltage and Current Source is a versatile precision dialable or remotely programmable voltage and current source. Its three ranges provide up to 20 V full scale (200 V with the HV option), and down to 100 mV resolution; and 20 mA full scale down to 0.1mA resolution. Both voltage and current outputs are available simultaneously. The output is set by a range selector and thumbwheel switches in the LOCAL mode, or by a digital input at the rear panel. The GenRad 1863 will measure resistance at any of five test voltages of: 50V, 100V, 200V, 250V, and 500 VDC.
